Building better futures through nutrition education
Our mission is to bring people together to support children living in poverty in Gabon. Through nutritious food, our community kitchen, and nutrition education, we work to help children build healthier futures.
Our Story
Stargold’s Nutrition Foundation was created to support families in Gabon, helping them build the knowledge and resources they need to care for their children and work toward greater self-sufficiency.
Our work begins with a small, local investment in Gabon, with the hope that it will grow into a model for creating a broader global impact.
We have also published several children’s books about the importance of nutrition and donated them to schools across Gabon, helping make nutrition education accessible to children and their communities.
At the heart of our Foundation is a community of dietitians and dietetics students committed to advancing nutritional knowledge and improving nutrition outcomes.
Together, we have developed a nutritious and tasty protein snack recipe that will be prepared and distributed through our community kitchen in Gabon.
Objectives
To establish a kitchen in Gabon, managed and staffed by Gabonese people, to prepare and distribute nutritious protein snacks to vulnerable children
With the help of Canadian dietitians and chefs, to formulate nutritious yet tasty recipes for the protein snacks the Foundation will serve
To partner with local farmers to grow the indigenous crops needed to prepare nutritious meals
To equip parents and teachers with the knowledge and resources to teach children the basics of nutrition
To engage volunteers whose time, skills, and support are essential to carrying out our work
